There are two reduced recoil factory loads available for the 7mm-08. The Remington Managed Recoil load uses a 140 grain Core-Lokt PSP bullet at a MV of 2360 fps. The MPBR (+/- 3") of this load is 230 yards. The Hornady Custom Lite load uses a 120 grain SST bullet at a MV of 2675 fps. It has a MPBR (+/- 3") of 260 yards. I am verifying 7mm-08 hunting loads using Winchester Staball 6.5! It should give right around 2800 fps from a 22" barrel. Do start lower, though. The Sierra manual tops out at 43.7 grains, Nosler at 44.5, Speer at 45 and Hornady at just over 46. I would use neither of them for shooting a 150gr bullet in 7mm-08, especially for a hunting load. Better choices would be H414, or Alliant Power Pro 2000, or one of the 4350's. You'll get better case fill, and higher velocities. When manual says "most accurate powder tested" it really means nothing to us.
